Experience

Experience: I have working experience in a primary school student care as well as in the early childhood industry where I had a preschool attachment. Currently teaching a P1 and P4 student for English, and P5 for Maths. Previously taught a K1 & K2 for English, K2 for Math, P6 for English, P4 and P6 for Math and P4 for Science. 

Teaching Approach:
- English: For composition & creative writing, I will run through the flow of events with students so they are able to adapt to thinking in a structured and concise manner, integrating key descriptive phrases and vocabulary to enhance their writing. They will learn to generate ideas, organise their thoughts, and plan their drafts before they start writing. Activities like brainstorming, mind mapping, or outlining can help them structure their thoughts. For Paper 2, plenty of practice and exposure to unfamiliar words, especially to broaden range of vocabulary words while focusing on weaker areas so that the student has to confidence to execute these sections. Address common errors and providing exercises to reinforce these skills would help improve the articulation and fluency of the language.

- Maths: Implement plenty of practice regularly, so students will be more familiar with various question types and has the confidence to attempt questions with different levels of difficulty. Using diagrams and visual representations to illustrate mathematical concepts can help students better grasp abstract ideas. Providing a strong foundation is crucial in this subject in order for the student to be able to grasp more complexed concepts in future, so I will use a targeted approach to build on the weaker areas of the subject while ensuring that his/her strengths is maintained and one that they will score in. Repetition and practice are key to mastering math, hence these practices given will help them reinforce what they have learnt.
