Experience

Currently, I am a full-time tutor with a tuition company focusing on tutoring Mathematics from Primary 1 to Primary 6. I currently have 21 tutees whom I am tutoring Mathematics from Primary 1 level to Secondary 1. Experience tutoring at a tuition centre.

Commitment

Experience

I have 1-1 teaching experience for 5 years. I also have Hillgrove Secondary school teaching intern experience for close to a year from March 2020 up till December 2020.

As a student who once struggled in math, I am able to relate to students who are not scoring well in math. I used to be failing from primary school up till lower secondary, until I met a passionate tutor who did not gave up on me like my school teachers did. He made me realise that math is so much more than just simply numbers. the following mid-year exams I managed to score 97/100 as compared to the previous year of 27/100. Afterwards, have gone through JC H2 math as well as Polytechnic math modules scoring As and distinctions. I can assure you I will do my very best to deliver you the results for your child. NA NT or Express, I believe that there is no difference in ones capabilities.

My Polytechnic math modules of consisting of Additional Math concepts scored all As, with one distinction. I have previously tutored O level students for Emath with the prior grades being C and thereafter at least a B3 for O level results. I am able to provide materials for E math, for some of the topics. My passion lies in Mathematics, and I am grateful to have met a passionate teacher that helped pull my grades to top 2 in the cohort within a year. I believe your child can achieve it too.

I currently have 5 tutees, all primary school.

Commitment

I can start asap and will be able to commit for a minimum of one year however as of now up till Mid May, I am only available on Saturdays (2pm onwards), Sunday (8am onwards).

Teaching style: guide the student in his homework/assessment/schoolwork, answers his question, ensuring that he understands the method and/or the reasoning behind the answer instead of just knowing the answer. Will provide extra questions and materials if need be.

Remarks: I am open to questions by student to subjects - Math, English and Chinese :) For Chinese and English, I will only focus on the paper 2 portion, the non creative writing/composition portion.

Tutoring experience:
1. Taught a P4 Boy Math, English and Chinese for 0.5 years. (2019 Dec- 2020 June)
P4 boy's grades for 3 subjects have seen significant improvements within 3 months. (E.g. jumping from 40/100 to 70/100, he understood the reasoning behind answers rather than guessing the answers, able to complete papers within time limit as compared to only finishing 3/4 papers before - and all these were made possible with his hardwork and effort too)
2. Taught a K2 Girl Math, English and Phonics for 0.5 years. (2019 Dec- 2020 June)
K2 girl's English speaking became more fluent, able to communicate in English much better. She also able to pronounce words that were once difficult for her and her English writing also improved significantly.
