Experience

I have been teaching in De La Salle school for 15 years as Primary School Mathematics teacher. I obtained a Bachelor of Computer Engineering Degree from Nanyang Technological University in year 1995, and a Postgraduate Diploma In Education (credit) from National Institution of Education in year 2006.
As I have been an Ex-MOE teacher for 15 years, teaching Primary school Mathematics, so I know the primary school Mathematic syllabus very well. I just left my job last November 2022. After resting for approximately 6 months, I had decided to be a fulltime primary school Mathematic tutor. I started tutoring primary school Mathematics in June 2023, and currently, I have one P4 kid and one P1 kid.
I have been in my ex-school Mathematic Department for 15 years. Hence, I have set Mathematics exam questions, Mathematics revision papers, Mathematics topical worksheets ...etc in that school.
In the Mathematic Department, I was also involved and in-charge in various programmes to improve in students’ Mathematic cognitive skills (logical thinking and reasoning…etc).
I believe that every student matters and can achieve a level of mastery of Mathematics that will serve them well, in the usage of that mastery, in their lives.
I believe that teaching and learning of Mathematics should develop students’ competencies of thinking critically in an uncertain situation, making decisions in various contexts, and collaborating and communicating with others.
Please refer to my two recommendation letters (1 from my ex-colleague that I worked with closely, and 1 from my ex-supervisor) upon request.
Currently, I have 2 tutees P4 (2023) and P1(2023) from June 2023 till now. Both tutees improved a lot after I tuition them. P4 tutee improved from 40 marks (mid-year exam) to 68 marks (year-end exam). P1 tutee also improved a lot from mid-year ungraded assessment => whole numbers (beginning) to year-end ungraded assessment => Length, mulit n div (Accomplished), Time (competent)
