Experience
I had taught in Singapore MOE secondary schools for more than 10 years in 'O' level Chemistry & Sciences, thereafter I had been an IBDP/A level/IGCSE chemistry teacher overseas for more than seven years. In the 2017 Nov IBDP Chemistry exam, 21.4% of distinctions (‘7’), 35.7% of grade A(‘6’) and 21.4% of grade B(‘5’) were achieved. One of the candidates scored 90% in SAT chemistry. In July 2019, Extended Essay candidate managed a score of 30/34 in Biology. In Jan 2020, 4.1% managed distinction, 20.8% grade A and 37.5% grade B in IBDP first year semestral exam. In July 2020, 15.8% of distinction (‘7’) and 26.3% of grade A (‘6’) of IA candidates directly supervised by me was awarded by IBO. In Jan 2022, an IB Chem tutee who enrolled only 4 months before the final exam scored a mark short for distinction. A H2 A level tutee showed an improvement of two grades after seven months in the A level results in Feb 2022. For all tuitions, basic concepts with a lot of worked examples will be taught for students to apply and solve the recent past examination problems. A timely short written test with MCQ will be given to monitor each student's progress. Students are encouraged to post their questions anytime. Please note that only online lessons will be offered.

I have taught in NYGH and HCI in 2008-2021 and started tutoring since 2002. With many years of experience in schools offering the Integrated Programme and the A level curriculum, I am familiar with the demands of the A level H1/H2/H3 Math curriculum, and able to give clear explanations to help students learn and master the subject. Most of my tutees have face to face lessons, but a good 10-20% of my tutees opted for online lessons conducted via Zoom, where clarity and efficiency are not compromised. I was a major in Applied Mathematics in National University of Singapore, where I was placed on Dean's list every semester, and was also a recipient of numerous Book Prizes. I joined teaching, hoping to pass on my passion in learning to the next generation. As I met students who were less academically inclined, I hope to help them improve and regain confidence in themselves. In school, my patience and dedication in helping students have been recognized with internal school nominations for Most Caring Teacher Award and Outstanding Educator Award. A testimonal written by a student: Miss Li is a wonderful teacher who has given her all to guide me through the difficulties that I have faced in my 2 year JC mathematics journey. Her patience and kind words gave me the strength to carry on in times of doubt and encouraged me to work harder to achieve my goals. I believe that any student of Miss Li's are in good hands and can reach their full potential.
I can start asap and will be able to commit till the student sits for his/her major examination.

Since young, I have had a passion for nurturing people and seeing people learn and grow gives me joy. As the oldest child, I always had the responsibility of teaching my younger siblings and marking their work. People around me have commented that I have an immense level of patience and I particularly enjoy working with young children. In the past, I have worked with preschool, primary and secondary children in church camps and kindergartens. In my CCA, my role as a student conductor involved teaching people of various backgrounds and skill levels, and my wish to do the best I can even led me to doing my own research and developing my own lesson plan and worksheets. Under the MOE English Language Elective Scholarship, I interned at the MOE English Language and Literature (Primary) department, helping in preparing lesson materials, creating slides and recording Reading Aloud packages, which were meant for various age groups. The drive to excel at what I do has also resulted in various awards, for example the Education Merit Award 2021 and 2022, Good Progress Award 2014, 2019, Edusave Good Character Award and the Colours award 2020.
I can start asap and will be able to commit to a student’s full academic year, but preferably on weekends
