Experience

Hello! I am currently teaching a Sec 2 NA student Math. I have previously taught Math for PSLE students and I am currently part-timing at a tuition centre teaching Primary School Math Olympiad. I have only started tutoring this year since my A Levels ended and have found it very difficult to find students. I like to believe that I am a very patient tutor because I relate closely to students who are struggling. I have been in that position before and I know how important it is to have a good tutor especially when you are falling behind in school or you simply are not suited to your own teacher's way of teaching. As such, I am likened more as a senior than a teacher. I also believe that a tutor should be someone who is approachable and dependable, this is something I try to maintain with all my students. This means helping a student with schoolwork outside of lesson time or giving examination tips and advice whenever needed. I have always found words from my seniors impactful and important, even more so than those of my teachers because I believe my seniors' experiences do not seem far off from mine. Here are my lesson plans! - I will contact the student in advance to discuss on upcoming lessons. Each lesson is tailored according to the student’s own needs
- Crash courses/ Consultation e.g going through mistakes and misconceptions/ Exam tips will all be provided
- Lesson preparation will be done e.g. compiling different question types with increasing difficulty levels for each topic
- Review on study methods

Experience

This is my 20th year into teaching Chinese. During my NIE training, I was awarded Distinction for the Practicum Exam.

Over the past 20 years, I have gained tremendous teaching experience with over 2000 students of all kinds of abilities. I have developed my own Writing and Video Oral packages that are very comprehensive for students of all levels and competency. My lessons are always interactive as they are intended to be student centric and I have great confidence in coaching students of all abilities.

I am also into Online tutoring whereby students and parents feedback their children are responding equally well virtually. Videos are sent to parents after every lesson to allow parents to have a clear idea what was covered in the lesson, so that parents can easily monitor the progress of their children in every session. Parents are very appreciative and happy to receive the videos.
