Experience
In junior college, apart from my notable academic performance, I have also actively participated in the Japanese Cultural Society. I have also led several MLEP (Malay Language Elective Programme) activities as an MLEP Scholar. I have been listed in the Dean's List in 4 internal examinations. As much as possible, I was always open to helping my peers improve themselves academically. I believe that I am an engaged person who is productive and has good time management, which has led me to achieve results which I am extremely proud of. In 2018, I became the 2nd best student to score in A Levels, with an RP of 88.75 AAA/AAB. I am especially passionate about the study of Geography. Anything related to the environment and human complexities fascinate me. I put in effort to translate my love for the subject to my students, who I taught through the MOE Teaching Internship Programme in 2018. Teaching has always been my passion, which is why I applied for the MOE Teaching Award/Scholarship. However, I rejected the offer because I wanted to pursue my studies in NUS rather than NTU-NIE. I private tutored two A-Level students from YIJC and ACJC for H1 Geography in 2018. They improved their grades from an S/U grade in J1 to a A in A Levels.
Commitment
Given that I am registering as a tutor at an odd timing, I can assure that I will be available on Mondays-Fridays from 11 May to 30 July. Subsequently, during my academic year in university, I can be flexible with what days I can have tuition on. I am able to design worksheets for students to do, mark them and provide revision materials by the next session and reply to any queries regarding homework or tuition materials via Whatsapp/SMS/Telegram. I do not give up on my students if they seem to be lazy or unmotivated. Given my past experience with my two tutees who had their own flaws and unpleasant habits, along with my experience in the MOE Teaching Internship in 2018, I am confident that I am able to adapt to my potential tutee's profiles and backgrounds.
